“So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Cor. 5:6-8
“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep (die), or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” 1 Thess. 4:13-14
Mother and I will meet again. And be around one another, as well as with her parents Paul and Estelle, just not for 50 years, but forever. And she will not be a frail 90-year-old woman with dementia, Parkinson’s, and other illnesses.
That assurance, based on the promises of God, Who does not lie, is incredible. The promises help extinguish the grief, knowing what lies ahead.
“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” Heb. 12:22-24
The fruit of the Holy Spirit, which is within all Christians, manifested itself the most in her life in the form of faithfulness.
She was faithful to instill in me the habit of going to church my last year in Auburn, leading to me later obtaining God’s mercy (1 Pet. 2:10) in Montgomery at Eastwood Church. Her legacy also includes granddaughters who believe in Christ.

“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:36“Jesus said to her (Martha): ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
